Dr. Bill Releford | First Ladies Health Initiative in Los Angeles
Dr. Bill Releford
launched the 2017 First Ladies Health Initiative at the Crenshaw Christian
Center Faith Dome in Los Angeles. Dr. Releford visited four of the
participating churches, briefly describing their 10 steps that diabetic
patients can take to avoid diabetes. Staff and volunteers included Dr.
Releford also screened for diabetes and hypertension. Investigations by church
vary and may include breast cancer, prostate cancer, obesity, HIV / AIDS, and
hepatitis C.
A glimpse of the day
On First Ladies Health Day, Dr. Bill Releford
joined Walgans pharmacists and other experts to provide life-saving health check-ups
in 35 churches in the Los Angeles area and educated the congregations about
diseases that disaffected African American and Latino communities.
The First Women's Health Initiative, funded primarily
through Walgreens, is a partnership that includes more than 100 "First
Ladies," or clergy wives, about 105 health organizations, and more than
400 volunteers who support the health of African Americans. Work together to
improve.
The Journey of Dr. Releford
Dr. Releford is an assistant professor at the Charles R. Drew University and lectures
worldwide about the latest technologies in organ disposal and community-based
outreach.
He wrote the book "Five Colors a Day to Better
Health" and is highlighted in "NBC Nightly News" with the Brian
Williams, ABC's "The View" and The Washington Post, Newsweek, and The
Los Angeles Times.
His community outreach and health care advocacy
efforts are facilitated through the Diabetic Empowerment Prevention Foundation
(DAP), a non-profit organization he established in 2001.
