Since early 2010, Dr. Bill Releford had made incredible progress in his medical career, and he used to be an assistant professor at Charles R. Drew University and lectured worldwide about the latest technologies in organ disposal and community-based outreach. And because of his achievements, he is nationally known as a foot and ankle surgeon, and he had shared his skills abroad by organizing amputation prevention programs in Ghana, Uganda, Gabon, Fiji, and Brazil. Releford's audacity could have ended his future, but instead, he decided to further "redefine what is happening."

Even President Barack Obama was overwhelmed and invited the White House Superbowl Party after learning about Releford's Black Barbershop Health Outreach Program, which aimed to reduce health disparities and heart disease among African American men.

Wearing a lab coat with a smile on his face in the Inglewood office, Releford reported that his rebound was based on the techniques he had developed to get his life back on track. Those methods are outlined in his soon-to-be-released book, “R to the 3rd Power – Restore, Redefine and Re-launch – How to Find Peace and Prosperity Inside Adversity.”

“R3 is a multi-disciplinary approach that is natural for combating and advancing beyond landmines, quicksand’s, and WMDs.

Also, Dr. Releford said that although you cannot change or avoid life events and situations, you can learn to see and experience them as a blessing and in a way that works for you.

I expect that by reading this book, you will realize that the real power lies within and that you have full, unrestricted access to unlimited, unavoidable resources to solve any problem. The only limitations are the limitations on themselves. You will find that adversity may be the seed necessary for your bloom.
